Kicked Out
Last night I dreamed that I was back at NG project managing another TI buildout. The dream began at a pre-con meeting with contractors and subs. The details are a little vague but what I remember clearly was the moment after the meeting when I began to cuss at a sub. The cussing was triggered by his inability to follow particular rules/regs specific to the project. I became very annoyed and irritated in a short amout of time. Following, I demanded that he and his laborers leave the site. I remember screaming and yelling and swinging my arms. I was pissed!
This afternoon, I returned to the job site after 4 hours of class. I made my way around the project and visited my supers as I normally do on Wed afternoon. I caught up with my manager (we'll call her Mary) in front of the new Puma store. Mary and I made converstation with the Puma PM and super then suddently ... Enter idiot driving a truck on the plaza level while construction is in progress. Mary asked that I get him out of here. I stopped the truck and asked the driver, "Excuse me. Can I help you?" The bastard quickly replies, "I know my way!" and immediately drives off almost running over my feet. NO HE DIDN'T! He pulls up about 75 feet directly in front of another retailer, gets out of the truck and begins working. I furiously walk towards him ... my blood is boiling. As I approach the store I yell, "TIM (super for this particular store)!" "GET HIM THE FUCK OFF THIS SITE!" I repeated myself once more in more obscene language. Mary steps in behind me and asks me to head upstairs to the office. At the moment, I wasn't thinking ... at all. But I admit, I was defintely out of line with the language. Temper, temper!
Moments later, she enters in the office shaking. "I'm screwed," I thoguht to myself. Back to PopCopy ... not good! She ended up kicking the sub off the site and laid into him pretty hard. I asked what had happened. She told the bastard that he was working at OUR mall, gave him an earful about how disrespectful he was and that he should feel privilaged to be part of the project. Without hesitation, he got in his truck and drove off the project. His boss had not rebuttal. He knew his laborer was in the wrong. +1 for the good guys! When Mary got her breathe back, I apologized sincerely and she replied with, "Are you OK?" I couldn't believe it! I thought I was done. She calmed me down and asked that I don't let the contractors get under my skin. I should of known better but he pushed the wrong button at the wrong time. After a short discussion, she asked that I stay on the job passed the grand opening, which is in three weeks. I couldnt' believe my ears. Really? You want me to keep working after my poor behavior? Obviously, I accepted the offer and possibly may have a bright and prosperous future ahead of me. Overall, this day was nothing but a disaster ... but ended with whip cream and a cherry on top!!! Rare to say ... but I LOVE MY JOB!!!

Flying Angel
Camera tricks? Not on Season 2 of Mindfreak. First season had me laughing. This season, still laughing ... hard. Just watched the episode where Criss Angel visits a US military camp. The card trick performed on that episode has got me stunned. The magazine trick .. come on! The Hummer trick .. my stomach hurts to keep watching. Double header ... now he's going to levitate from the roof of one building to the roof of another ... in broad daylight. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Absolutely pure entertainment!

Wi No Fi
This morning on Pearl I found an empty table at the outdoor patio at fourbucks where I sipped my half-caff and watched labor day shoppers pass by. I brought my laptop with me to check out the free wifi connection on Pearl. At first I was surprised that Starbucks no longer offers a free wifi connection and appears to be taken over by T-Mobile. $6 for 60 minutes ... are you kidding?? I then tried to connect to the free Pearl wifi connection that I've heard so much about. After numerous attempts to connect, I found that there are very few hot spots. I ended up 2 blocks closes to Broadway from 16th, which was much further west from where I wanted to be. "Daddy, I want a wifi connection!" Your best bet is to try to hack the Google wifi network rather than chase the free Pearl connection. Better yet ... leave your laptop at home .. wired! Happy Labor Day!
