Powerball Continued

Obviously my powerball experiment didn't produce the results I was hoping for. Maybe Saturday's drawing will produce some results.

I'm not a quitter!

Closing in on May (its Spring right?), there's at least 5 inches that accumulated thus far. And its still snowing, hard! I can recall 3 years ago when Boulder was dumped on weeks after Easter, roughly 3 1/2 feet. That same storm left 8 1/2 feet in Nederland. I'm ready for the warm weather ... the white stuff ain't doing it for me anymore!

Although the last day of classes offically ends tomorrow, I was finished with classes last week. Couple review sessions and 3 finals ... come next Thursday, its officially summer. 4 weeks of freedom and back to the grind in summer school. The sad part, the 4 weeks will go by a blink of an eye. Maybe some xanax can slow things down!

On another note, recently I've been smoking more than I usually do. Not sure what thats all about but I know I should cut down ... or better yet quit. I was almost there ... 1 butt a day. Now I'm back up to 7 or 8. Tomorrow's a new day ... right?

More on War

Going through today's news, I came across this headline on Google News ...

Weapons Inspector Ends WMD Search in Iraq

And directly underneath the headline ...

U.S. Weapons Inspector Finishes His Work in Iraq Without Finding Weapons of Mass Destruction

I'm a little confused. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that we went to Iraq to disarm Saddam. Something is not right!

Idle

I have to be at work at 4. The semester is coming to an end. Finals are next week. I have absolutely nothing to do. I'm home alone. I'm blogging. I'm the one thing my mom didn't want me to be ... idle!

Grand Opening

I suppose a benefit to being a student is that you can stay up late watching re-runs of movies on FX while blogging. My guess is that my blogging days will slowly wither as time becomes farther and farther way from my blog grand openning day. Lets see what happens tomorrow.

Matisyahu

I received an mpeg the other day of The Hasidic Reggae Superstar, Matisyahu. After a few seconds of listening, I found myself boucing my head to the beat. Moments after, I found my neck snappin' too. But I had no idea what he was saying. I find that I do that alot. For all I know, he could of been saying that he hates the US or that he was happy on 9/11. After visting his site, I support him. Apparently April will be a busy month, touring the east cost. Hope he heads west ... check him out ... Matisyahu.

Figuring out the picture thing ...

Yankee Stadium - another shot Posted by Hello

P.O.S.

I saw Atmosphere at the Gothic last week (actually on 4/20). Funny, as I get older 4/20 becomes less and less significant in my life. Anyway, Atmosphere was OK. Just OK. What really got my attention was the openning act, P.O.S. A youngester with decent rhymes and neck-snappin beats. I haven't found any of his music on the web but that just means that I haven't looked hard enough. My opinion - he displayed his inexperience by spitting liberal politics to the crowd during the middle of his set. But his rhymes were tight and the beats were on point. But don't bring that f-bush sh!t to the house. When I'm at a show, I want to hear something that'll make my ass shake and that makes me go "whoa!"

Interestingly enough ...

I have no idea what I'm doing!

Blogger

You wouldn't believe it if I told you.
So I'm going to tell you anyway.
I've never blogged before.
I had no reason to.
Many people I know blogged since back in the day.
But yet I chose not to.

Today I read mad blogs. Most were humorous and others were plain stupid. I didn't really find any in-betweens. What really got my attention was the sh!t talk about people that the author(s) was friends with. Are you kidding me? You got something to say to me, tell me to my face. And if I don't like it, I'll bust your jaw! NY ... born and raised sun!

Powerball

The idea that quantum physics present (or at least what I understood from "What the bleep?") is the possibility that all possibilities occur when not observed. What? Exactly! Given an event (any event), the outcome of the event is all possible results until observed by an observer. Humans, me and you, are observers. We see things through our eyes which are interpreted by our brain. The idea is that until we actually see what we see, all results occur. The idea is described as a sine function of all possible outcomes and at the moment an observer is introduced, the sine function collapses to a point (or single solution/result). Therefore, if we focus our brains on a particular outcome, the outcome is more likely to occur. The one example that is illustrated in the documentary is the Washington DC study on crime rates. The experiment required a number of people meditating in Washington DC, focusing their energy on lowering the crime rate. The end result – a 25% decrease in crime. Coincidence or not?

After pondering this idea for some time, I decided to apply the idea to my actual life. On the outside most people would not know that I’m completely broke. I owe more money that I can count and as the days go on, I'm forced to borrow more and more money. When will it end? Since yesterday, I made a purchase. The cost - $1 - a single powerball ticket. 6 numbers to match – 54 million dollars win. To apply quantum physics to this event, I will never look at the numbers on my ticket. Therefore, after the drawing date I will be a powerball winner. If I do not observe my numbers, my ticket contains all possible numbers including the winning numbers. Thus, I will become a millionaire and will finally have my head above water once again. Obviously for this case, the sine wave collapses the moment the computer identifies a winner based on the numbers drawn. What would that mean once AI is born. I’m referring to the AI that can completely think for itself. Once a computer can make decisions how does quantum physics apply. Would the world be finite? After all, humans would be the ones to provide the computer’s logic. Where am I going with this?
